On August 20, 2024, Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd. (abbr. Sinosteel MECC) held a cold rolling project cooperation launching ceremony with Beijing Bestpower Intercontrol Co., Ltd.(abbr. BPI) and Primetals Technologies, Limited(abbr. Primetals Technologies) .Mr. Lu Pengcheng, chairman of Sinosteel MECC, Ms. Wang Huiqing, general manager of BPI, Mr. Koledic Tomislav, CEO of Primetals Technologies, and relevant persons in charge of the Steel Rolling Engineering Department of Sinosteel MECC attended the ceremony.
During the meeting, Mr. Lu Pengcheng and Mr. Koledic Tomislav carried out in-depth exchanges on topics such as project cooperation, low-carbon transformation, and application of new technologies. During the critical period of reshaping the global steel industry, the only way to seize the first opportunity in the fierce competition in the global market is to be innovative, break through the boundaries and deepen international cooperation.Primetals Technologies and Sinosteel MECC have maintained a friendly partnership for a long time, and both sides have realized win-win cooperation in multiple projects.
Joining hands again, BPI and Primetals Technologies, as a consortium, will provide electrical, drive and automation services for acid rolling, galvanizing and continuous annealing unit of Tosyali cold rolling project, which is contracted by Sinosteel MECC. They will construct the first full-process low-carbon intelligent high-end cold rolling production line of plates on Africa continent with the first-class level in the world. The project is an important milestone for the owner Tosyali Group, the general contractor Sinosteel MECC, as well as BPI and Primetals Technologies, making a solid step forward in promoting the green transformation and intelligent upgrading of the global steel industry. Moreover, it provides a strong support for the global market layout and high-end plate market strategy of each party.
