On July 12, 2023, the first domestic steel water unmanned transportation system jointly developed by Beijing Bestpower Intercontrol Co., Ltd.(abbr. BPI) and CRRC Dalian Company was successfully launched at Anshan Iron and Steel Group. This marks a significant breakthrough for China's steel industry in the field of intelligent logistics. At the launch ceremony, leaders from the National Railway Administration, Anshan Iron and Steel Group, CRRC Group, and the Steel Metallurgical Transportation Technology Expert Committee witnessed this milestone moment together.
The successful launch of the system is of great significance, achieving four "firsts":
1、It is the first time that unmanned operations have been realized in the field of steel water transportation.
2、It is the first application of SLAM technology to solve the problem of precise positioning across workstations.
3、It is the first time that gaming technology has been applied in the railway transportation field to achieve digital twins of operational scenarios.
4、It is the first use of AI technology to solve the positioning and recognition problems of airborne moving objects such as steel ladles and hooks.
This marks that BPI has fully mastered the cutting-edge technologies of intelligent transportation systems for steel enterprise rail lines, including intelligent scheduling, unmanned driving, 3D digital twins, obstacle perception, SLAM positioning, and intelligent equipment. This has set a new benchmark for the intelligent development of the entire industry.
The system uses 3D digital twin technology to create a real and precise virtual factory, digitally presenting the logistics process. Through high-precision 3D modeling technology, the system can monitor and manage every link and detail of steel water transportation in real time, ensuring the transportation process is highly controllable. Operators can intuitively understand the transportation status through the visual interface and respond in a timely manner, thereby improving the accuracy and efficiency of transportation.
The system applies SLAM technology, which combines various sensors on the vehicle to perceive the surrounding environment in real time while simultaneously building a map and accurately positioning its own location. This advanced positioning technology provides the steel water unmanned transportation system with high-precision and stable location information.
The project adopts a closed-scene intelligent railway transportation system solution, covering technologies such as integrated perception of vehicle-mounted and ground-based systems, locomotive driverless technology, construction technology for intelligent locomotives and vehicles, low-latency communication technology based on 5G network technology, fusion technology for wireless and wired multi-network data, self-diagnosis, alarm prediction, and health assessment technology for key locomotive systems and components, digital twin technology based on operational scenarios, and the establishment of intelligent scheduling and transportation scheduling systems.
The unmanned transportation system is a comprehensive application that integrates traditional locomotives with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and autonomous driving, including intelligent upgrades of ground, communication, and vehicle-mounted systems. By integrating ground systems, vehicle-mounted systems, environmental perception systems, wireless network systems, supporting intelligent auxiliary systems, and external information interfaces, the system achieves unmanned operation within the scene and automatic operation of equipment. It is particularly suitable for enterprises such as ports, metallurgy, and coal mines, and can effectively improve transportation efficiency and reduce the workload of operators and maintenance personnel.
The successful launch of the system will greatly improve the safety and stability of steel water transportation, reduce the probability of accidents, enhance transportation efficiency and accuracy, and minimize delays and losses. Additionally, the system will bring environmental benefits by achieving green and low-carbon transportation.
