    Recently, the renovation project of intelligent swirl well grabbing slag of Guangxi Iron and Steel Group's Hot Rolling Plant, which been undertaken by Beijing Bestpower Intercontrol Co., Ltd.(abbr. BPI) has been successfully completed and smoothly passed the acceptance inspection. The project has achieved automatic lifting operation of "one person operating three lines", further enhancing the production efficiency and intelligent level of the production line. This project is of landmark significance in the process of intelligent manufacturing and green development in the steel industry, highlighting the outstanding achievements and firm determination of both parties in promoting industrial upgrading.


    Since the launch of the project, BPI has formed an elite team composed of senior engineers and technical experts. They delved into the production front line of Guangxi Iron and Steel Group to conduct comprehensive and detailed research and analysis on the complex working conditions and pain points of traditional processes in slag pit operations. Based on precise data collection and in-depth technology research and development, a comprehensive solution tailored for the intelligent slag pit has been developed, covering an automated control system, intelligent monitoring platform, and big data analysis engine.

    Intelligent and Efficient, Green and Energy-saving

    This project has realized the fully automated operation of the slag treatment process. With high-precision sensors and advanced automated control technologies, the system can accurately sense key parameters such as the material status, liquid level, flow rate, and positioning information in the slag pit in real time. It automatically adjusts the equipment operation parameters according to preset algorithms to ensure that the slag treatment operations are always in an optimal state. This not only significantly improves production efficiency but also greatly reduces equipment failure rates and maintenance costs, providing a solid guarantee for the continuity and stability of steel production. Meanwhile, the big data analysis engine deeply mines and analyzes the vast amount of data generated during the production process, providing scientific basis for production decision-making, which helps enterprises achieve refined management and precise scheduling, further enhancing overall operational efficiency and market competitiveness.

     

    The frequency conversion control technology and optimized slag handling processes used in the intelligent slag crane system have opened up new and effective ways to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction. The application of frequency conversion control technology in the intelligent crane system is a major highlight. According to data statistics, compared with traditional fixed-frequency controlled cranes, the intelligent slag pit crane system with frequency conversion control technology can save 20% - 30% of electrical energy. This data fully demonstrates its remarkable effectiveness in reducing energy consumption. In addition, the optimized slag handling processes also make positive contributions to energy conservation and emission reduction. During the slag handling process, by optimizing parameters such as the opening and closing angles of the grab bucket, the grabbing speed, and the lifting height, efficient and precise slag grabbing is achieved. On one hand, this avoids the multiple repeated grabbing actions caused by inaccurate grabbing, reducing unnecessary energy consumption and equipment wear. On the other hand, precise slag handling makes the slag transportation process more stable, reducing slag spillage and dust generation, lowering environmental pollution, and saving additional energy and labor costs required for dust cleaning. Overall, the combination and synergistic effect of frequency conversion control technology and optimized slag handling processes not only reduce corporate operating costs but also strongly promote industrial production towards a green, environmentally friendly, and sustainable direction.

    Close Collaboration to Create an Industry Benchmark

    It is worth mentioning that during the project implementation, Guangxi Iron and Steel Group and BPI worked closely together to overcome a series of technical challenges and engineering difficulties, such as preventing the main hook steel wire rope of the slag handling crane from entanglement. Both teams fully leveraged their respective strengths, ensuring seamless integration and efficient progress of all project stages through regular technical exchanges and on-site joint debugging. This in-depth cooperation model not only laid the foundation for the successful acceptance of the project but also provided valuable experience for the implementation of intelligent manufacturing and green development projects in the steel industry.

     

    The successful acceptance of the intelligent slag pit project of Guangxi Iron and Steel Group marks a significant victory for both parties on the path of intelligent manufacturing and green development.
