Recently, the 1450mm hot strip mill production line of Tangshan Donghua Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. was successfully thermal load tested and put into operation. This project was EPC contracted by Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd. and subcontracted by Beijing Bestpower Intercontrol Co., Ltd. The project has an annual output of 4 million tons of hot-rolled steel coils, among which 500,000 tons per year are provided as raw materials for cold rolling, 3 million tons per year are hot-rolled commercial steel coils, and 500,000 tons per year are hot-rolled pickled coils.

Tangshan Donghua Iron and Steel Group is one of the largest, the most professional, and the production base with the most complete varieties of high-end bars and wire coils in North China. This 1450mm hot strip mill project is an important project for its integration, reorganization, capacity reduction and replacement, as well as transformation and upgrading. After the project is put into production, it can produce a variety of products, such as high-quality carbon structural steel, hot-rolled steel for automobiles, weathering steel, container plates, steel for pressure vessels, and low-carbon steel. This will further enrich the product categories of Tangshan Donghua Iron and Steel Group and enhance the competitiveness of the enterprise.
The main equipment of this rolling line is equipped with 2 walking beam furnaces, 1 set of tandem double-stand reversible rough rolling mill unit with vertical rolls, 1 set of flying shear, 7 four-high finishing mill units, 1 set of laminar flow cooling system, 3 coiling machines and 1 set of pallet transport system. The main drive system adopts TMEIC main drive, and the auxiliary drive system uses Siemens S120 devices. The main rolling line is equipped with various large-scale instruments such as multi-function instrument, X-ray thickness meter, surface detector, width meter and flatness meter to ensure the stable and reliable quality of the production line.
At the project site, the team of BPI gave full play to its superb technology and rich experience. With the support and cooperation of the owner and the general contractor, the team successfully solved the technical problems and completed the equipment commissioning with high quality and efficiency, which was highly recognized by the owner and the general contractor.
